Proceeds will go to support the school’s music education programs.

Admission to Jammin' for Joy is $50 a person; $25 for children ages 16 and younger.

This fun-filled event includes a battle-of-the-bands competition, as local bands The Atomic Horses, Slow Blind Hill, The Invaders, and C. Vaughn Leslie and Boy’s Night Out perform and celebrity judges, including WUTK’s own J.J. from the Saturday afternoon “Chart Attack” show, score the acts.

90.3 The Rock and our Tuesday night local music show, “Locals Only,” present The Big Deuce live at Barley’s Taproom in the Old City for the WUTK Welcome Back Bash Friday, August 20^th. Tickets are available at the door.

Local funk/hip-hop group The Big Deuce brings its high-energy show back to Barley’s. Their song “Who Got the Mike” and others can be heard on The Rock.  Opening the show is Greeneville’s Franky B. and the New Chronic Dream.  Members of both bands were formerly in the band Skinny Little White Girl.

    


WUTK is proud to be a sponsor of the 2010 Knoxville Brewer's Jam taking place Saturday, October 16th at World's Fair Park. Along with the celebration of handmade craft beers from over 30 local and regional breweries from around the south, there will also be live music from Shortwave Society, the Kevin Abernathy Band, Same As It Ever Was, and the Drunk Uncles.

90.3 The Rock and our Tuesday night jam-band show “Fire On the Mountain” proudly present AN EVENING WITH DARK STAR ORCHESTRA live at the Valarium Thursday, September 9^th. Doors open at 8p.m. and tickets are now available at www.thevalarium.com.

DARK STAR ORCHESTRA’S shows are built around the extensive catalogue of the Grateful Dead. The band plays a series of songs performed throughout the Dead’s thirty-year career the same way a composer would interpret the music of classical composers.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $22 at the door.

90.3 The Rock’s Tuesday night local music show, Locals Only, proudly presents ‘STRIPPED DOWN,’ a series of live performances featuring local and regional musicians and songwriters who usually are part of a band, but perform either solo or in a duo for this series.

‘STRIPPED DOWN’ continues at The Preservation Pub Tuesday, July 27^th at 9:30 p.m. and will feature Faux Ferocious and Jonathan Worley.  STRIPPED DOWN takes place the last Tuesday of each month at Preservation Pub in Market Square, and you must be 21 or over to attend.

90.3 The Rock welcomes Trent Summar to the Shed in Maryville this Saturday, July 31^st. Tickets are available at all east Tennessee Smoky Mountain Harley-Davidson dealerships, or www.smh-d.com, and at the gate the night of each show. All shows are happening, rain or shine. Gates open at 7p.m., and music starts at 8.

Former east Tennessean Trent Summar has been touring with his current band, the New Row Mob, since 2000, and in the 90’s with his band Hank Flamingo, both of which can be heard on The Rock.  Knoxville rockers The Black Cadillacs get the night started.
