Abigail Washburn is a one-of-a kind artist whose distinctive style is rooted in her love of two seemingly unrelated worlds: Appalachian folk music and Chinese culture. Washburn, formerly of the all-girl string band trio Uncle Earl, has performed internationally and recorded both solo and with The Sparrow Quartet, comprised of Washburn, banjo virtuoso Bela Fleck, cellist Ben Sollee, and fiddler Casey Driessen. Abigail most recently released her new album, City of Refuge, a scintillating effort that finds her expanding her palette by mixing old time sounds with a playful indie pop sensibility. Joining this double bill will be The Wood Brothers. Oliver and Chris Wood (of Medeski, Martin & Wood) grew up in Colorado and both ventured out into the world to explore music - one to Atlanta, one to New York (respectively). The Wood Brothers have reunited and begun a collaboration that combines their shared childhood influences with everything they've learned since leaving home. Their music has a rootsy feel that blends blues, folk, and rock music in a guitar/bass duo. The brothers’ new album, "Loaded" was released on April 1, 2008.
