The Bearded live at Preservatation Pub on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 16th

90.3 The Rock presents The Bearded at Preservation Pub for a Fat Tuesday celebration, February 26th. Preservation Pub’s hosting a Fat Tuesday celebration including traditional King cakes and Mardi Gras beads--and more beads.

 

Knoxville Band The Bearded will kick-off the Fat Tuesday celebration at 9 p.m. with music that's a modern twist on an old-time string and rhythm sound. The Bearded's song, "Blues In A Bottle" can be heard on 90.3 The Rock.

Check Out the Lady Vols Next Home Game Sun., Feb. 14th at :00 p.m. Against the Florida Gators

Pat Summit’s Lady Vols 2009- 2010 regular season continues with a home game Sunday, February 14th at 2:00 pm in Thompson-Boling Arena against the Florida Lady Gators.

 

Tickets to the see the Lady Vols’ home games are on sale now at the Arena, by phone at 656-1200, or at ut lady vols dot com. Students are still able to attend Lady Vols games with their valid U.T. I.D., but you will need to login to the student online ticketing system and “Activate” your VolCard for admittance to each home game.  For more details, including the activation period for student tickets, you can click onto big orange tix dot utk dot edu, or find a link at wutk radio dot com.

Black Joe Lewis and The Honeybears at Barley's Taproom Feb. 19th

90.3 The Rock’s next live The Funhouse show features Lost Highway Records recording artist Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears to Barley’s Taproom and Pizzeria Friday, February 19th at 10 p.m. Cedric Burnside and Lightning Malcolm will be opening the show.  Tickets will be available at the door the night of the show.

 

 

Austin’s Black Joe Lewis brings his R&B soul revue to Knoxville, backed up by his 7-piece band The Honeybears.  They are touring to support their latest album “Tell ‘Em What Your Name Is,” which includes the song “Sugarfoot,” heard only on 90.3 The Rock in this town. Drive By Truckers at the Bijou Theatre Feb. 14th

90.3 The Rock welcomes A.T.O. Records recording artists DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS and their ‘Big To-Do Tour’ to the Bijou Theatre Sunday February 14th at 8 p.m. Opening the show will be SONS OF BILL. Tickets are on sale now. For more information and tickets you can visit www.knoxbijou.com .

 

 

 

Athens, Georgia’s Drive-By Truckers is touring to support the band’s upcoming L.P. ‘The Big To-Do,’ coming out March 26th.  The album includes the song “Working This Job,” as heard first on 90.3 The Rock.

 

Admission is $25 plus service fees.

90.3 The Rock and the Midnight Voyage present Planet of the Drums at Southbound Thursday February 11th!

90.3 The Rock and the Midnight Voyage present a night of percussion and electronic music as Planet of the Drums returns to Knoxville after six years to perform live Southbound Bar and Grill in the Old City Thursday, February 11th for and 18 and over show. Tickets are available at www.brownpapertickets.com, and at the door the night of the show. 

 

Planet of the Drums will mark their 10th consecutive year touring with a series of electronic dance bands to keep audiences on their feet all night long, including Dieselboy, AK 1200, DJ Dara, and MC J-Messinian.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door.

90.3 The Rock presents Perpetual Groove and BoomBox for a double-headliner show and CD release party for P-Groove’s new album at the Valarium Friday, February 12th. Doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at all tickets unlimited outlets and for more information visit www.thevalarium.com.

 

Perpetual Groove, also known as P-Groove, is releasing their latest album “HEAL” the night of the show. The album is said to have a new rock and roll sound with high energy tracks. BoomBox’s signature sound is showcased in their live shows and the duo uses their musical history to add to their music.

 

Tickets are $15 in advance and $17 at the door.

G. Love and Special Sauce at the Valarium March 18th!

90.3 The Rock welcomes G. Love and Special Sauce, with Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad to the Valarium this Thursday, March 18th. Doors open at 8 p.m. For more info check out www.thevalarium.com 

 

Philly’s G. Love and Special Sauce is known for their style of bluesy-hip hop. They incorporate hip-hop, funk, psychedelic, blues, and soul influences into their music for a feel-good show that keeps the crowd moving.  Rochester NY’s psychedelic reggae road warriors Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad returns to Knoxville with their funk and reggae vibes.  Music by both bands can be heard in Knoxville on The Rock.

It’s Hockey Top Time in Tennessee, as your back-to-back SPHL Champion Knoxville Ice Bears face off against the Columbus Cottonmouths Friday, February 12th.  The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. at the Civic Coliseum in downtown Knoxville.
