**90.3 The Rock is a proud sponsor of the 8th annual VESTIVAL this Saturday, May 10th from 11a.m. to 7p.m. at the corner of Candora Avenue and Maryville Pike on the gournds of the historic Candoro Marble Company just past Henley Street Bridge in South Knoxville. VESTIVAL will have food vendors and crafts, children’s activities and live local music on two stages. WUTK will be doing a live remote broadcast from VESTIVAL and one of artist’s playing PHIL POLLARD will be live in the WUTK studio at 4:30 p.m. more info at: www.myspace.com/vestival

The Tennessee Theatre welcomes two nights of WIDESPREAD PANIC live Monday and Tuesday, July 14th and 15th, with doors at 6:30 each night, and 7:30 show time. Reserved seat tickets go on sale to the general public Friday morning, May 9th at 10 a.m. at all Tickets Unlimited Outlets, by phone at 656-4444, and on line at Tennessee theatre dot com. Tickets are $36.50 plus service fees

Bailey’s, neighborhood sports bar and restaurant, is at 250 North Seven Oaks Drive in west Knoxville in Windsor Square shopping center. 90.3 The Rock and our Sunday night reggae show “Simmer Down” proudly sponsors the 10th annual springtime CAMP REGGAE, high in the Smoky Mountians on Sassafrass Ridge in Turtletow, Tennessee, May 23rd to May 25th. A weekend retreat of live music, camping, soccer, hiking, Carribean food, and cool runnings, Camp Reggae is hosted by The Natti Love Joys.

OurStage Battle For The Roo College Contest
The ‘OurStage Battle For The Roo College Band Contest’ is a battle of the bands contest where the winning act will get to perform at the 2008 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. The contest will be run via www.ourstage.com, which is a website where fans and music lovers can listen to and vote on which act they like the best. Bands enter the contest by going to a specialized OurStage page and signing up for the contest by entering the band info and uploading a song.
Note: A ‘College band’ is defined as a band with at least one member being enrolled in a college/university. The winning band will need to supply OurStage and Bonnaroo with a photocopy of a valid student ID card.
WUTK has the Sundown in the City Line up HERE!
Ready or not, Knoxville, Regal Entertainment is presenting the 11th Annual, free Thursday Night concert series, “Sundown in the City” on Market Square. And here’s the 2008 line-up:
May 8th-Josh Ritter and The Hackensaw Boys (Double billing)
May 15th- North Mississippi All Stars with special guest Alvin Youngblood Hart. Opening the show is Knoxville musician Artvandalay
May 22nd- Presidents of the United States of America with Cutthroat Shamrock
May 29nd-Robert Earl Keen with Jypsi
June 5- TBA
June 12th- Citizen Cope
June 19th- Marc Broussard with Erick Baker
June 26th- The Everybodyfields and Amy La Vere
July 3rd- Wild Magnolias
The shows get started at 6 p.m. and run until 10, with all ages welcome and plenty of parking available at the Locust Street, Market Square and State Street garages. See ya there!
